Frequently Asked Questions

How can I sign up as a customer?

You can create an account by going to the top right corner of the home page and clicking on ‘Sign Up’ and following the subsequent steps.

How can I trust that I wont be scammed while making an online payment?

To avoid scamming and fraud we have connected a secure online payment gateway to our website through Payfast. For that purpose, this is the only payment method allowed on our website.

How does ‘refer a friend’ work?

The ‘Refer a friend’ mechanism rewards you with a R10 voucher after you have referred a friend who does not yet have a customer profile on our website. That friend upon their first purchase will then receive a voucher code that they will have to share with you so that your R10 voucher can be activated. Home Made does not permit anyone to make additional profiles for themselves.

How do the home businesses make their money?

All home businesses get 100% of their asking price on all of their products and services that they offer on the Home Made website. Once a payment is made by a customer for products or services, the home business will receive their money instantly in their online payment gateway account.

What do I do if I am dissatisfied with a product or service I have just purchased?

If you are dissatisfied with a product or service you have just purchased, you may make direct contact with the home business who sold that product or service to you. You may contact them on the Home Made chat system to lay your complaint  (go to the home business profile and click on the ‘chat now’ icon). You can give this home business a rating and a written review as this will give other customers awareness of the problem you encountered. This rating and review system is available after a purchase is made.
